I know people have photos of all sorts of foods. And we tend to have some competitive spirit amongst us.  Your prize is bragging rights and you and your photo featured in the foodies section.  I am very much looking for photos so that I can remove the fried fish one that denotes our group and the Teamhouse Kitchen right now.

How to participate:

Attach your fave foodie photos under this discussion thread and members can 'vote' for the photo by hitting reply under your response and saying: this gets my vote.

You can vote as many times as you like for different photos and I will go for the photos that get the most votes.

Edit: This was going to have a deadline attached to it but let's keep it going as photos are coming in and we are LOVING IT!

Really looking forward to seeing the gems people have!  Stories with photos very welcome.

Hah, it might've been the whole onion - which is fine by me! Never can have too much in my opinion! And yes, the newspaper adds a nice flavor to the meat ;)

Ikan Bakar! Just-caught fish grilled to perfection in Lovina, Bali. Served with sambal (chili sauce). Tip: with any whole fish, the cheeks are actually the most delicious meat. Try it.

That looks amazing!  Thanks for posting Anna...makes me miss all my fresh fish in Sri Lanka...

Cambodian passionfruit dessert with chips of ice in it. Deliciously cool and refreshing on a hot, humid day. No idea how one should write it, but it's called "krob CHEE". Rhymes with yummy :)

You got recipes for any of this?  Great photos.  Keep em coming! x

Photos of a Tajik picnic.

The brother of a neighbor agreed to teach me how to make real paella for a group of ten. It took all evening and a few bottles of rioja, but we got it done. Can I add 'making paella' to my list of relevant skills?

Few things beat the simple pleasure of beans and rice...and beer. This was on my table in Bogotá, Colombia earlier this year.

All the tastier for the bowl it was served in, no doubt.

Bolivian salteñas send frozen from my mother-in-law in the baggage of a mutual acquaintance to our home in Colombia. Relished with great nostalgia. (and yes, that is a side of carrot cake...why not?)

Does Colombia have an equivalent of Bolivian salteñas? These look like empanadas to my untrained (and raised in Mexico, living in the Philippines) eye.

I had to laugh about friends bringing food, frozen, in their luggage. My mom always brings me corn tortillas, frozen, from California when she visits me in Manila. I receive them giddily and gratefully!

Not even close. Colombia has corn empanadas filled with rice and bit of dry meant. I don't think I've had any relative of the empanada that comes close to the complexity and exuberant yumminess of the Bolivian salteña.
