NYC Meetups (including Brooklyn)

Hello everyone,

If you haven't noticed the Brooklyn group has been changed to New York City Aid Workers group.

From previous knowledge, the Brooklyn Aid Workers Group planned to meet once a month? If possible I'd like to create a meet up every two weeks. One would rotate (across the Burroughs of NYC) and out of tradition the other meet up would happen in Brooklyn. I think this would be a great way to keep the tradition of the Brooklyn AidSource group while also making it easier for other AidSource members to meet up with us.

I know that the previous group was discussing the best day of the week for a meet up. Did everyone decide on Thursdays? Let me know the decision you guys came up with, if possible.

Since the admins are the one who can change the name and the admins are also the ones who will have the final decision it probably won't happen. It would happen at the same time. Sorry!

As a novice to AidSource I'm a little confused. I thought Zehra had started the group. Is that the case? Because she has stated interest in keeping the group the way it is. Who are these admins? I don't understand why anyone outside the group should or would want to have any say.

Good points, Em. They (the admins) need to keep some sort of order and too many working groups WILL get confusing as Jeff rightly points out, it's already confusing to people how to work ning/aidsource. Anyone can set up an event, by the way...and the event can say, as it does, Blyn aid workers meet up...and we can cross post it here on the larger group. Make sense?

Hey all,

I asked the admins to create a Brooklyn group...and they did. And now they have decided to be inclusive of all of NYC. I think it's fine and we just leave it as is. We can just use this place to have a Bklyn meet ups since we are still a part of NYC :) Like Jeff said, we just have a thread for ourselves. Let the Manhattan people organize their meet ups (if they ever get around to it) and we can continue meeting ourselves in Bklyn. And on that note....when do we want to meet next?? x

Brooklynites....what you guys think? I am DYING to get out to Habana outpost in fort greene, since it's open and outdoors and just lovely in this weather. With obviously excellent food there and on every corner near it. Takers?

Habana Outpost can be fun! We've typically been getting together the third week of the month, though. Does that still work for people?

The pizza place is right by there...why do you think i suggested it?? The corn at habana is amazing by the way. I'm flex too (but not around third week of June!)...

Ok so we've been getting together the third of every week but Id love Zehra to be there. Can we do the week of June 3rd-9th this month and do the third week of July? I'm also perfectly ok with meeting twice in two weeks.
