I was thinking about all the different cities that I have been in and eaten either a REALLY bad meal or a fantastic one---the latter because I knew someone there or was recommended something. Can we start a list of places to eat out in different cities? Like...in Istanbul, or Budapest..or Brooklyn..or Islamabad, or Manila..or Osh, or Atlanta, or..Addis, Dakar etc etc...
Who's got some good ones?

I like the Sushi Planet chain. It's not the best sushi in the city, but it hits the perfect place for me in terms of quality and price. Other sushi restaurants in Almaty are more than I can afford, and the grocery store sushi is gross.
The Thai restaurant next to the hotel Kazakhstan is excellent, but really, really expensive. We're talking a $35 bowl of pad thai.
