Two days ago ALNAP announced the release of the newest State of the Humanitarian System report. The full report in PDF form is attached to this thread - download it for free!

The State of the Humanitarian System is probably the most comprehensive and rigorous attempts to understand what's going on - good and bad - with the humanitarian industry. Many people, AidSource founders sometimes included, love to go on about how the aid system is broken, dysfunctional, or whatever. But the State of the Humanitarian System actually studies it.

Whether you're a battle-scarred practitioner, a total newbie, an amateur who's convinced that you have the answers everyone else has missed, an academic or journalist covering aid, the State of the Humanitarian System is a must-read.

Download the report. Read it. What was new for you this time? What will you do differently in your job after having read it?

Tell us in the comments thread below.

Lots to say about this. Severe shortage of time to 'write' rather than just put jumbled pile of words together though. Concur absolutely though, people really gotta read it. c

I loved the short video that went along with it....and have the report downloaded and I WILL READ it v soon.  It's massive.  Cynan, even jumbled thoughts would be good...
