I'm thinking of writing about Oxfam's bra donation campaign but haven't seen much commentary on this yet. It's a UK-only campaign so no surprise there's not much on this side of the pond. But it seems odd for Oxfam to do something like this.
Would welcome any thoughts or pointing me toward others' thoughts on this.
Cheers
Tom

Permalink Reply by Tom Murphy on April 9, 2012 at 5:52pm I have been in the middle on this and have meant to do the proper research to write something. What strikes me is that the used bras are re-purpose to be sold in the UK with the money raised to support Oxfam. Some are then sent to Oxfam supported markets where they are bought and sold. To me, this is not cut and dry SWEDOW in the sense that WVs Super Bowl t-shirts are, but they are not a great intervention either. Hence my need to look a bit further into it. Many have been quick to come out against and I want to write something that it is in the middle or may even support it, so I want make sure I know enough.
Maybe some with more knowledge would be willing to chime in on this. I am interested in further comments.
