NYU's Development Research Institute (DRI) just finished its annual conference today in NYC. It featured speakers like: Yaw Nyarko, William Easterly, Michael Clemens, Andrew Rugasira, Esther Duflo, Abhijit Banerjee, and Angus Deaton.
I know some of our students here on AidSource attend the schools represented. Would love to hear general feedback from those that either attended or were following the days events.
@viewfromthecave was tweeting live from the event at #DRIdebates if you want a rundown of the day.
Seemed like RCTs (randomized controlled trials) were a major topic discussed along with their increasing role in framing approaches in foreign aid (see @pooreconomics). Did any of our members attend this event? Or is this whole debate irrelevant to what actually happens on the ground? Thoughts?
