- Jamie Lundine is a health geographer, action researcher and crisis mapper. She has designed, implemented, advised on and reported about participatory digital mapping programmes in communities throughout East Africa. Jamie gained early experience in the field of communications and crisis management when she worked as a Dispatcher for wildfires for the Ministry of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations in British Columbia, Canada. After earning B.A. Honours Degree in Geography and African Studies from McGill University in Montreal, Jamie travelled to Kenya as an NSERC research scholar to investigate the use of the Ushahidi platform for crowd sourcing crisis information. She worked on several Ushahidi deployments, including mapping HIV/AIDS and TB services, monitoring the Kenyan Referendum in 2010 with Uchaguzi.co.ke and advising on the development of Voice of Kibera. Most recently, Jamie led a team of professionals and young people to develop and manage the portfolio of a local Kenya based organization, Map Kibera Trust.

Hi Jamie! I was on the hunt for other Canadians on AidSource and came across your profile. I'm also focused on ICT4D and just returned to Toronto after a year and a half in Nairobi, and since there seems to be a lot of crossover I just had to say hey. Would also love to learn more about what kind of work you're doing in Nairobi!
