A lot of work has been done in recent years to ‘professionalise’ humanitarian aid and development work. Reputable organisations don’t see themselves as ‘charities’, paternalistically handing things out to their many grateful dependents. A lot of work has been done in recent years to ‘professionalise’ humanitarian aid and development work.
