(The Humanitarian Social Network)
The IDHA is an intensive, four-week training program that caters to a wide range of humanitarian aid professionals by the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs. It aims to prepare humanitarian workers and members of international relief agencies to perform more effectively in conflict and post-conflict situations. This course, targeted towards NGO and humanitarian professionals, addresses a wide range of disciplines that are involved in humanitarian programs. Among these are management, psychology, anthropology, communication, environment, education, conflict resolution, international law, civil/military relations, politics, and economics.
The course enables aid workers and their organizations to function more effectively in times of war or following natural disasters. This month long intensive program includes over 200 hours of lectures, presentations, debates, and group work. The intensity and duration of the course enables aid workers who are active in the field to attend with minimal disruption to the operations with which they are involved.
